WELCOME TO THE LIMINAL SEA

You don’t remember what happened. You know you had a life, but the memories are an unsolvable hazy mess. Nevertheless, you know who you are and where you are: the Liminal Sea, Ocean of Oceans, Place Below Places.

The special area you are in is the Sea of Dreams. Here lies the sleeping visions and subconscious minds of all sentient beings, from the indescribable avatars of pre-cosmic forces to small animals with barely enough brain and soul to dream. It is “ruled”, insomuch as it is ruled, by Dream itself. All the bays and seas of the greater Liminal Sea are overseen by their embodiments.

Your goal as Souls is to truly explore and embrace who you are. Only then can you escape this strange underworld. 

About This Game

Created for the Dash Jam! A simple d6 die pool system, encouraging action. 

This Dash/Charge Condensed hack shifts the focus away from what characters can do or which skills they have to focus on why they are acting and who they are. The main character stats are personality traits, together describing their personality and telling you who they are.

Liminal Sea: Dream also explores dream logic, symbolism, and other departures from normal everyday rational thinking and causality. Explore a strange and unpredictable dreamworld as you explore yourself.
